In the February 05 – 06, 2009 period, the seminar on the theme "Domestic waste landfills" took place at the CLERMONT Hotel, organized by the Agency for Environmental Protection in collaboration with TAIEX (European Commission). The purpose of the seminar was to present Romanian and European good practices regarding the implementation of European Directive 1999/31/EC concerning the domestic waste landfills.
The event was a good opportunity to reunite the stakeholders who bear the responsibility to carry out the commitments assumed by Romania as well as to create a proper environment for experience exchange between Romanian and foreign experts.

One year after officially opening the CLERMONT Hotel we are greatly honoured by our guests’ more than positive reactions. This last year we diversified the offered facilities, paid attention to the recommendations and constantly grew the quality of the services.

In the September 29 – 30, 2008 period, the international seminar regarding "The Situation of the Natura 2000 Sites and The Administration of Protected Areas" took place at the CLERMONT Hotel, organised by the Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with TAIEX (European Commission). The main goal of the seminar was to present, to those directly involved, the legal framework established by The European Union and the national legislation regarding the protection of nature, the current situation of the protected natural areas and the administration of the Natura 2000 Sites in Romania and, finally, to present the best examples regarding the proper management of the sites in order to increase the capacity to manage the protected areas, especially the Natura 2000 Sites, in compliance with the standards of The European Union.
Experts and participants from the country and abroad attended at the seminar, and the presentations were followed by open, question and answer, sessions, thus realising an important exchange of experience.

In the May 07-09, 2008 period, The International Conference of Veterinarians took place at the CLERMONT Hotel, attended by the foremen of the central diagnostic institutes, the leaders of veterinary services from Lithuania, Hungary and Romania, profile companies, Members of Parliament, Secretaries of State, local authorities, guests from 10 counties and almost 200 veterinary surgeons. Among the renowned guests were Dr. Kelemen Attila, Deputy in the Romanian Parliament and Member of the European Parliament, Secretary of State dr. Radu Cheţan Roateş, the president of The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority and Secretary of State dr. Suth Miklos, head of the Veterinary Services from Hungary.
Issues related to veterinary medicine were debated at the event and results from the experience of Lithuanian and Hungarian authorities were presented related to the monitoring and control of rabies, the use of the LIMS system in the veterinary laboratories, the identification and registration of the animals, the food circulation and safety.
In the final day of the meeting, for the guests from outside the county, trips were organised around the Covasna resort, in historic areas, at the new Orthodox Church in the town, at a sheepfold and a private herd of Lipizzaner horses.

After only 3 weeks from its launch, on December 3, 2007, the CLERMONT Hotel hosted an important event: The Debate Forum of the Law Project for the Holiday Vouchers. The representatives of 21 territorial chambers of commerce, CCI of Romania, two National Confederations of Free Trade Unions of Romania Cartel Alfa and Frăţia, four federations of professional tourism employers ANAT, ANTREC, FPTBR, OPTBR and SIF Transylvania convened at Covasna, the resort of the 1000 health springs ®. The Secretary of State for Tourism in the MIMMCPTL, Lucia Morariu, deputy Antal Istvan, the vice-president of the Industry and Services Committee from the Chamber of Deputies, managers of balneary centres, meal coupon issuing units also participated. The debate forum was also organised with the assistance of GTZ – Programme of the German Government for Economic Promotion and Employment in Romania, an institution represented at the forum by Mr. Wienfried A. Senker – programme coordinator. Along with the initiator of the CCI Covasna Debate Forum, the co-organisers of the action were the CCI of Romania and The National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT).The forum multi-criterially analysed the necessity and opportunity of finalising the legislative process of adopting the Holiday Voucher Law by the Chamber of Deputies. The Clermont Hotel Management supports this initiative meant to impel the touristic sector and hopes for the positive finalisation of this demarche.
